The 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special got Linked braking with ABS, a high-end infotainment system, a security system, and upgraded paint are the primary differentiators from the standard Street Glide. Our particular bike has the most gorgeous Pearl White Paint that has to be seen in the sun light to be appreciated. It also got the Milwaukee-Eight 107ci engine, which along with mounting changes, reduced engine vibrations by 75 percent according to Harley.
An over looked improvement has been the improved comfort due to suspension upgrades. Harley has developed remote spring-preload adjustable emulsion shocks and installed Showa’s Dual Bending Valve fork. The Street Glide has much more confidence, remaining stable over inconsistent surfaces. Potholes, expansion joints, and unkempt roads do little to upset the Street Glide Special. Shorter riders will find the Street Glide Special easier to get astride and it is rumored heat dissipation has been improved and a slip-assist clutch is standard. The owner, wanting even a better ride and handling than up graded the front and rear of the bike with Legend Suspensions components, having them installed at D&S Harley for over $3,000 while the bike was still new.
The bike is hugely improved over last year’s bike and the standard Street Glide. Easy to see why our seller bought the bike but life changes are forcing the sale now. There has been no time to ride as you can see by the low miles accumulated since new.
