We have had several Road Kings here at the shop which makes perfect sense, it being the best selling Harley Model ever. They are great touring bikes that are smaller and lighter than the Electra Glides and Ultras while supplying great features and amenities
The 2000 Road King was very smooth with its rubber mount engine technology compared to the solid mounted engines in some of the other Twin Cam bikes. Though it did not have a balance shaft as some did, it provided smooth power delivery without letting you forget it was a large Harley Twin. The Road Kings came with Fuel Injection, making travel no matter where, a seamless transition from one elevation to another along with easy cold starting.
We sold this bike a couple of years ago and so have known it over the years. The present owner is giving up riding having enjoyed the bike over the years. It has boxes of accessories that go with it that can be seen in the images. There are a set of Samson Mufflers (the stock pipes are included), custom seats besides the seat on the bike and hard bags instead of the standard leather bags the bikes came with.
The bike rides great, starts instantly (being Fuel Injected does not hurt…) and is ready to go. It also priced reasonably for it’s condition and miles. Serious shoppers will see the value and appreciate the potential, no matter what direction they go. This is a great way to get into a full size bike for touring for a reasonable value.
