The 2003 BMW R1150RS gave the BMW riding experience without the weight and complexity of the R1150RT accumulated with “have to have” features that adorn most of the bikes. The “RS” model weighted dramatically less (almost 90 lighter pounds then RT) and allowed a reduced seat height with it’s adjustable drivers seat that can also accommodate longer legged riders. For riders or those looking for more responsive handling, the “RS” bike was the perfect compromise, hard bags, the adjustable windscreen, heated grips, 6 gallon Gas Tank, ABS Brakes, six speed transmission and the famous boxer engine layout that has been their trade mark for over 80 years. Adding icing to the cake, a full system Staintune Exhaust system is installed along with adjustable bar backs.
This particular bike shows beautifully with very few signs of it’s road use and travels. Mechanically it feels tight and cosmetically it is beautiful. Tires look to have at least 80% of use. The seat is very comfortable and inside seam challenged riders will find a perfect fit after adjusting the seat height to it’s lower setting. With the reduced weight and great riding position it maybe the perfect fit for the riding season headed this way.
