1951 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery

The owner of this 1951 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery was unable to give me too many details about the build due to the circumstances he came to own it. A family member here in Southern Oregon had been working on the car for many years and had completed it before becoming ill and soon passing away. The family did not want to see the car lost to just anyone, so the present owner stepped up and bought it. That was several years ago and the choice recently was to let someone else be the custodian. None of the family was able to decide on making the purchase, so the car was brought to us for sale.
I have had a chance to drive the car around town a bit and it is great. It drives comfortably, handles well (a lot better then when it was new!!) and the addition of disk brakes in the front along with power assist does an admiral job of slowing things down. The AC blows cold and the Cadillac power and heated seats are arm chair comfortable. The interior is well done and fits the motif of the build.
The drive train appears to be late model with a Chevy Small Block up front. The images do a better job of describing it then I can. The pulleys are billet and the workmanship is excellent. It starts perfectly and despite the heat and running the AC, was smooth and powerful. In fact, driving the car is absolutely a no brainer, you could cruise with it or plan a road trip, it would perfect for either. If you closed your eyes, the 5- Speed Manual Transmission and powerful V-8 would have you thinking you were in a Camaro or other Chevy sports car.
A lot of energy went into the body and paint. The tail lights and radio antenna were both Frenched and the panels as straight as when the car was built. The pin striping accents the subtle ghosted flames that catch the light as it rolls past. Cragars are on four corners and tires look little used. The “Rand Machine Shop” on the side is vinyl appliquéd and can be removed with a heat gun. The rest of the car is pin stripped. There is rust showing on the bottom of the doors as can be seen in the images. No project is ever finished!
Anything more I add is going to show how little I really know. The car is beautiful, drives well, is in great condition and is ready for the next adventure.
