2018 BMW R1200GS Raylle
Price: $13,995 USD - SOLD (No Longer Available)
Two of the most beautiful GS’s ever sold were the 2012 R1200GS Rallye and the 2018 R1200GS Rallye. The 2012 twin cam came with a red frame, the H2O 2018 with the blue frame. If that does not settle well with you, this is the wrong ad for that wrong reader.
So what is the difference between the Rallye and the standard GS other than the frame color? Boy, the internet is a confusion of facts and opinions about the bikes sold in the US. My own personal bike is a 2018 Rallye and even I am confused about the differences. What I do know that the front A-Arm is different and possibly the rear shock mount is different and my bike is taller than a standard GS of the same year. I discovered this out while buying crash bars, they do not interchange with standard GS parts. So there is a difference in suspension mounting for a fact. My understanding is that this difference made the bike sit a little bit higher with a tad bit more travel.
From the internet to add to the confusion and contradictions:
“The 2018 BMW R1200GS Rallye is an off-road-focused version of the standard R1200GS, featuring sport suspension (longer travel), black cross-spoke wheels, Enduro-style wide footpegs, a stainless steel radiator guard, and a shorter windscreen as standard. While the standard GS offers a more versatile experience, the Rallye is designed for riders who want to tackle more challenging off-road terrain, providing a taller stance and improved capability in dirt and rough trails. The core engine and electronics are largely similar, but the Rallye features distinct differences in suspension, ergonomics, and appearance.”
“GS Rally has the same suspension as the GSA for extra ground clearance over the standard GS models”
But then they offered a factory low suspension version of the bike. Really?
So, if you know what you are looking for and I am not the one who is an expert, we are still in good form, please continue reading.
This 2018 Rallye is cosmetically stunning. It could have just come out of the show room other than a minor tip over mark on the valve cover and crash bar on the left side. There are no other signs of use. Tires are brand new, not a mile on them. The bike was serviced at Hansen’s and now at Dave Mahue’s Precision Motorrad in Medford, Oregon. It comes with the two Vario Bags and Tail Bag. There is a Navigator V and Engine Guards (crash bars). It is stunning to view, stunning to ride and ready for anything you can dream up.
The selling price is $13,995. Miles are 14,210 and the VIN WB10A6103JZ656590. For other interesting bikes and collectable vehicles, visit our web site http://www.automaniagp.com 541 479 8888 or come by and see us at 895 SE Gladiola Drive, Grants Pass, Oregon, 97526. Oregon Dealer DA1287.
