BMW motorcycles have been the ultimate high speed touring platforms for decades and the K1200GT is the ultimate statement from BMW on what that modern mount should be. After a short (normally long) trip to Medford and back, no one would argue that they missed the mark by an inch. On the other hand, those sorts of jaunts have the enviable conclusion of an extended conversation with an employee of the City, County or State driving a car traveling just a little faster then you were and the sharing of a corresponding citation.
This 2007 K1200GT was sold new by Hansen’s BMW which is cosmetically almost new in appearance. It has always been fully by the BMW dealer, loaded with all the factory options and normal accessories. Along with ABS Brakes, Paralever rear Suspension, Duolever Front Suspension, Electronic Brake Assist, options include ESA Suspension (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), Hard Bags, Heated Seat, Headed Hand Grips, Cruise Control and the on board Computer telling you when you should be feeling hot or cold. A stock rear travel trunk was acquired but was never keyed to the ignition. It does lock but requires a separate key.
The bike does not need anything except a direction to be headed . If you are looking for a great commuter bike or a long distance mount, you will not find anything better. It is an “Autobahn Terror” in a 3 piece suit.
