Entire magazines are devoted to the wonders of the water cooled bikes, more power, betters shifting, better electronics, better handling, all of the benefits of a complete redesign the R1200GS line of bikes after the twin cam version built to 2013. I cannot compete with their knowledge and if you are looking at this bike, you are probably more aware of why it will make such a great motorcycle. What I did notice right away is that the bike is equipped with Cruise Control, a feature not offered on the Oil Head GS’s. After all of these years I have learned to appreciate having it despite my previous reservations and fear of running full tilt into something when wanting just the opposite. A few times of use and you get use to using it. It is very helpful when on long stretches of straight roads and freeways.

A couple of accessories were added including the factory BMW Garmin Navigator V GPS and Mount, Tourtech Crash Bars, Head Light Guard (with the optional Medal Screen included), Heavy Duty Wunderlich Engine/Gear Box Skid Plate, GuardConcept Side Stand Guard, Air Flow Seat Cover and factory Vario Tail Trunk. It has been wired for a SAE plug a Battery Tender which can also be used for Heated Gear with an adapter. Why doesn’t BMW give the accessory plugs bigger electrical relays?

The bike, sold at Hansen’s BMW, was serviced by Hansen’s with oil changes handled according to schedule both by the dealer and the owner. A new R1300GS was just delivered and now the R1200 is being sold. The rear tire is new. The bike presents as almost new and about $14,000 less money than buying a comparable new model.
