A Ducati fanatic customer brought two Italian made Malaguti 50cc Phantom Signature scooters by which he had been keeping for years. They were produced and promoted by Ducati as official pit bikes and heavily modified in the day. As it turns out, they are also extremely rare.
In 1996, Malaguti introduced the F-15, a scooter was instantly popular in Italy. Fast forward 16 years and in 2002 they partnered with Ducati to create the Ben Bostrom 155 Replica. Again, it was intended as a Ducati race team pit bike built in numbers that Ducati fans could own as a rare Ducati accessory.
It came with a single-sided swing arm, telescopic forks, Grimeca brakes, Paoli suspension, a 50cc Minarelli engine, and apparently excellent build quality. Apparently, just 155 were built – some were used as pit bikes by Ducati factory racers and the rest were sold to the public.
