The owner of this 2023 Honda Rebel 1100T DCT wanted a motorcycle that would be comfortable riding with other big Touring V-Twins but would not present the issues of the larger bikes that include height, bulk, weight but with ease of operation. They were looking for “Bagger”, a bike for someone who wanted to be part of the adventure but not too invested getting there.
The Rebel 1100T DCT is powered by a 1,084cc parallel Twin, Fuel Injected Engine mated to Honda’s well tested DCT, Dual Clutch, 6 Speed Automatic Transmission. It is Chain Drive to the rear wheel and Disk Brakes front and rear to slow it down. Honda also equipped the motorcycle with two electronic rider assist packages, “Honda Selectable Torque Control” and “Honda RoadSync” both of which are rider programmable to suit their individual tastes and needs. The wet weight of the motorcycle is about 518 pounds and the seat has a “challenged inside seam” height of just over 27 inches! The dimensions define an easy operation for every rider, experienced or not.
The Rebel 1100 was designed with the idea that if a rider was coming from a smaller Honda Rebel 300 or 500, they would quickly feel comfortable and at home with the motorcycle and its operations but with more power. Fuel mileage is about 40ish mpg and with a 3.8 gallon tank, gives a comfortable 120-135 mile range, about as far as most of us want to sit in one setting.
Reports about riding the 1100T are pretty enthusiastic about the general feeling of control and handling, some even referring to it as sporting when the pace was upped. All and all, it seems to hit all the buttons for a smaller rider wanting to hit the open road and feel comfortable doing so.
