There are a lot of Hot Rods and custom paint work that comes through the shop, but this 1986 C10 may be some of the best work I have seen in a long, long time. Painted in Atomic Orange, it is one of the most subtle Restomods we have had at the shop in decades. The prep and finish are without exception, it is absolutely flawless. Mechanically, cost was not spared to create a great driving truck that is also a show quality Hot Rod.
There is the 6.0L LS2 Corvette Engine, 700R4 Transmission, 4-Link Rear Axle, Power Disk Brakes on all 4 corners, Vintage Air A/C, 20-inch Ridler Alloys all sitting on a powder coated Factory modified frame and that is just the big items. The more you look at the images, the more you discover.
And then there is the Airlift Performance Bag Suspension System that allows you to effortlessly customize the ride height using a simple cable mounted controller. Underneath on the chassis rails are two air tank reservoirs charged by an on board compressor. Driving the truck at a “normal” ride height was just as normal as can be. But the first time I set the controller to let the pressure out, the truck was instantly inches off the ground. It can still be driven, but it will loosen a tooth or two.
The interior must have taken weeks to complete. The seats and door panels are two-tone tan and brown that perfectly fit with the exterior orange. It took me back to driving an ’86 C10 when they were new, extremely comfortable and ready for long trips. The Vent windows were removed and a one piece tinted glass has replaced it. It appears that a great deal of effort and money was spent on the stereo system with foot well speakers enclosures color matched to the dash and body work. There is a full set of AutoMeter Cobalt LED Gauges set in the stock dash surround.
Beyond all of this I cannot add much more. It would take an expert or master builder to recognize the amount of engineering, effort and expense that went in to this build. I am not that guy!
