1968 Ford Mustang Convertible for sale

1968 Ford Mustang Convertible
Price: $22,995 USD - SOLD (No Longer Available)

Mileage: 57,627 U.S. miles

Before the first ten years of the Mustang evolved into larger and heavier models, the 1968 was the first cosmetic makeover from that original 64 introduction. In my opinion (which is very slanted by falling in love with a Highland Green 68 coupe parked in my high school parking lot), it did not lose the wonderful basic original design, just cleaned it some of the features that might have been part of the first design.

1968 models came with the 289ci at the beginning of the production year cycle but the 302ci V8 made it mid-year which this car has. Behind it was the C4 Automatic along with Disk Brakes in front, Drums in the back and Power Steering.

This car appears to be in it’s stock form from the factory according to the Data Plate #76A W 2Y 22H 72 2W.

76A- 2-Door Convertible, Standard Bucket Seats
W- Meadowlark Yellow
2Y- Light Nugget Gold Crinkle Vinyl and Light Nugget Gold Kiwi Vinyl
22H- August 22
72- San Jose
2W- 2.79 Rear End, C4 Automatic transmission

Our car came from a long time collector who passed recently. The miles showing are 67,663 and if you did not know differently it drives like the miles could be correct. There is no way to make an accurate, under 100,000 miles statement as the previous owner is gone. The engine sounds tight and quite, the transmission shifts well and there is no pulling or odd behaviors while driving or using brakes. The underside has minimal surface corrosion with no signs of prior impact or damage as seen in the images.

The car was repainted in the stock Meadowlark Yellow color years prior. It was not the best work I have seen but is presentable. The original top has two areas that are slightly split as can be seen. The interior is remarkable and most likely original. The driver’s side seat has two seams pulling apart on the bottom bolster but there is a possibility an upholstery shop might be able to sort that out.

The selling price is $21,895 and miles showing 67,663. The VIN# is 8R03C120022. For other interesting bikes and collectable vehicles, visit our web site http://www.automaniagp.com 541 479 8888 or come by and see us at 895 SE Gladiola Drive, Grants Pass, Oregon, 97526. Oregon Dealer DA1287.
