We have been driving Jeep Wranglers for about 15 years and learned quickly that the 2012 and newer Jeeps that came with the more powerful 3.6 Liter V-6 are worlds apart from the earlier 3.8 Liter motors with almost another 70 HP. I have had questions about anything running a Turbo from decades of head gaskets and cracked heads so the V6 has always been my choice of drive trains. Finding a Jeep that has not spent most of it’s life in the woods or rock crawling has also been the equal to finding a lower mile truck without a 12” lift kit for drivability.

So when a late model 2020 JKL Unlimited Wrangler Sport with 63,210 miles and a 6-Speed Manual Transmission was dropped off, we quickly said yes to finding a new home. When asked why they were selling the Jeep, the reason was a recent purchase of a 2022 JKL with the 3.0 Diesel Engine. 2 Jeeps in the garage was apparently one too many.

The owner also supplied a clean Carfax which listes a suggested retail value of $27,760. We were told that the 3rd member ratios had been changed from the stock 3:45’s to 3.73’s front and rear in the past 10,000 miles to help with acceleration and general response. A Rhino-Rack Backbone internal support cage was installed but the Rhino Rack is going to the new 3.0 and is not included with the Jeep. Insulating pads were installed on the hardtop roof panels as can be seen in the images. Oil and filter were changed within miles of being dropped off.
