This 2011 Harley-Davidson Road King came to us through a local bank that was settling an estate brought on by bankruptcy. It is recovered collateral which means that after the title is transferred, it will not be branded or tarnished in any manner. What it does mean is that is selling for a very reasonable value reflecting the miles, condition of the bike and because it is a recovery.
The bike is cosmetically stunning. That is the simple fact. We spent the first day trying to understand who had made a mistake on the mileage because it appeared to have less than 10,000 miles of use looking at it. The switches are not worn, the grips and floorboards have little signs of use, the bike appeared to be in excellent condition. I rode it for about 30 miles on the freeway at “slightly” above cruising speeds and it was great. The only issue I found was when the engine was turned off, there was a mechanical sound as it came to a halt. I rode it over to a local Harley repair shop who mentioned they thought most of these bikes made the same noise when they got some miles on them, but it was nothing critical. The only way to know would be to look behind the case cover for sure, but it seemed normal to them.
So, if you decide that this bike is right for you or just too good a deal, we encourage a mechanical inspection prior to purchase. We do not have any repair records but did contact the selling dealer in Coos Bay who gave the original owner high praise for his extremely regular service history. Crankcase oil appears fresh, the front tire appears reasonably fresh, the rear at least 75%. There is Cruise Control and a Freedom Exhaust System for hours and days of freeway cruising Add gas and direction, you can be gone!
