2016 KTM 85SX Supermini

I got an email just recently from one of our customers who had purchased a “Built” 2016 KTM 85SX Supermini and was a bit overwhelmed after riding it. One of the pleasures of living in Southern Oregon is that some people find themselves living next to BLM or open forestry roads and have the luxury of riding right out their back door, so to speak. He is one of those.
But, his first line is worth sharing. “I have been riding, ready to take to the trails like nothing you have ever experienced before. I'm 59 years old, 140 lbs, and this thing flys!” This was after his second ride. There was no third ride, just that email and wanting to sell the bike and buy a dedicated Trails bike instead of an all out race bike.
The 85SX was built for professional AMA Racer Avrie Berry, now riding for KTM in Europe. The bike was said to have 1 hour of Race Time on it before being sold. The engine is a Greg Lynks 105 SuperMini Package, a 105cc version of the KTM engine, using Lynk’s Head, Piston and Dyno’d Carb setup. It is also equipped with a SXS Ignition, V-Force Reed's, FMF exhaust and had a brand new clutch installed prior to sale. Suspension is Factory Connection, front and rear, set for a 130# rider along with Excel Rims and ProTaper Bars. It runs on a 50:50 Race Fuel/Pump Gas at a 32:1 ratio.
It was estimated that over $12,000 was invested into the bike to bring it to this level. No one said racing was cheap.
