This 2019 KTM 1290 Adventure S needed a good wiping down when as it was being dropped off to be sold. It is incredible how clean it is, especially seeing that it was intended to be a Dual Sport bike with Off Road being the strong word here. Talking with the owner, it appears that it was immediately too tall for him too feel comfortable with except on the street and he never felt safe enough using it for what he wanted, Dual Sporting. In fact, the tires that are now mounted on the bike now have less than 600 miles on them, replacing the stock rubber that lasted 6,000 miles.

The Adventure S was pronounced by KTM as having the most advanced electronics in the world of motorcycling. Scrolling through left Bar Mode Control, I would be last one to disagree with them. I kept looking for the words “Auto, Old Person and Large” to fit my needs. But it seemed endless and included not only Engine Modes, ABS Modes, Traction Modes but also Lean ABS and Traction Control. It would take a week to figure all these choices to those of us that are still getting use to the concept of Fuel Injection on a motorcycle. What I do understand though is the 1300cc, 160hp V-Twin part of the description. Yahoo!
