2015 Triumph Tiger Explorer
Price: $7,995 USD - PREVIOUSLY SOLD
When viewed through the lens of the “BMW GS” world, the Explorer package comes off as a great alternative with its beautiful sounding 1215 cc Triple engine, full Electronics Suite and plush, long distance riding cockpit at a much lower the asking price than the BMW.
The Explorer weighed a bit more than the R1200LS but it’s design was more street oriented, the same as when you buying Dual Sport tires that come in their different ranges, 10/90, 20/80/ 30/70 and the such. All are intended for specific amounts of use on road and off road, depending on how much is sacrificed in order to perform better in a different environment. Such is the Explorer, more for road use than single track hill climbing but still capable of fire roading and adventure riding.
The engine put out more power than the comparable BMW, a bit smoother as a Triple allowing it to carry more passenger weight load with almost 3x times the service intervals. The on board Electronics is as good as it got offering Riding Modes, Cruise Control and on an on board Computer that will make long distances predictable and bearable. Our owner installed a taller V- Stream Windshield and a plug in Phone Charging cable mounted on the Handle Bar. The intent was retirement and a long awaited Adventure Ride to Alaska but an almost catastrophic medical event cancelled plans and now the bike is being offered for sale.
Miles are 5,845 and the VIN# SMTF02XK8FJ685348. The selling price of the bike is $7,995. For other interesting bikes and collectable vehicles, visit http://www.automaniagp.com , call 541 479 8888 or come by and see us at 895 SE Gladiola Drive, Grants Pass, Oregon, 97526. Oregon Dealer DA1287.
