I hate to be cheesy, but I have to say:”Look what we got in, a 2013 Triumph Thunderbird Storm!” We have yet to see one of these physically imposing motorcycles in the flesh so to speak, but still it was quite a visual shock to witness the width of the tank and handle bars up close. I imagined that it would be immediately uncomfortable but it was quite the opposite, a very natural sitting position and reach to the bars when I rode the bike briefly.

Hansen’s BMW sold the bike brand new in 2013 to a rider returning to the road looking for a do it all sort of ride. The Vertical Twin 1700cc engine is almost stall proof with so much bottom end torque but the clutch pull is very light and the bike easy to manage at parking lot speeds. With the front end geometry, the bike is extremely stable at Highway speeds with the added bonus of ABS Brakes on hand in the event of road panic.

The Storm was based on the entry level Thunderbird but with flat matte paint and the absence of much chrome. The speedometer is mounted on the tank and in this case, showing 3,325 miles from new. The buyer of the motorcycle opted for an extended 72 month Service Contract which is assumable for a reasonable fee of $50 and his signature. There have been two services at Hansen’s, one at 675 miles for an oil change and the other for the same service at 3,032, just less than 300 miles ago.
