2013 Triumph Trophy SE
Price: $6,995 USD - PREVIOUSLY SOLD
I have been a BMW Twin rider from the beginning and figured the RT model was the best thing since sliced bread when it came out as the R1200 in 2005. Had several over the years, a lot miles and could not fault it except the electric assist brakes in 2005-2007, hated the noise. Triumph noticed all of those buyers picking one for the long distance sport touring rides and decided they could do the same bike except with their unique signature, the in-line Triple across the beam engine. Hence, the 2013 Trophy SE with almost the same features at the R1200RT and a couple no one ever thought of then or since. Triumph’s press release at the time stated “It was our top priority. Triumphs are about excellent handling, and we wanted the Trophy to be no different”. Bold words!
The engine puts out 132 horsepower at the crank, a bit more than the BMW and has a sound only a Triple can make out of the stock exhaust system. Final drive is Shaft with a single sided swing arm in back. The only version of the bike imported to the US was the SE model that came with an audio system, Triumph Electronic Suspension, a tire pressure monitor and a third 12V socket as standard equipment. Heated Grips were extra and our bike has them. The seat height was adjustable front and rear, with a ¾ inch range. Our owner was 6’4” tall and had a custom made saddle (the stock seat is included) from Mr. Ed’s Moto that fit his frame better along with lower foot pegs (the stock pegs are included). The strange feature that I am sure they spent a lot of time creating is the Triumph Dynamic Luggage System, which allows the saddlebags to sway over a 5-degree arc and links them together, effectively isolating the chassis from unwanted inputs. I leave it to you to decide if it is factor or not. The bike has bag liners and the Factory Tank Bag as seen in the images.
There is an extensive service documented service history which we scanned on to the on the site. The owner preformed most of the annual or 3,000 mile oil and filter changes himself with about 100 miles on the most recent. The front tire shown is marginal and is being replaced since the images were taken.
The VIN# is SMTH02XK9DJ573423 and miles are 22,238 from new. The selling price is $6,995.
