The Motorcycle Press loved the Yamaha V Star 950 Cruiser after riding and traveling on the bike. The 26.6 inch seat height made it absolutely unintimidating to riders with shorter inseams and to riders concerned with the added weight of a bike needed to make it a stable riding mount for long distances. The 942cc Twin was simple and bullet proof, providing good power that was not going to surprise anyone but provide safe control for passing and traffic.

In the sea of V-Twin Cruisers, the handling of the V Star really shines. A combined forward placement of the engine and the 18 inch front wheel provided safe and predictable handling while giving a comfortable riding experience. Fuel economy was about 47mpg fulfilled by a 4.7 Gallon tank. Good enough for a long sit.
Our one owner bike was equipped with factory Hard Saddle Bags and an accessory tank bag. Great miles were experienced, but when the choice for 2 up long distance touring was made, a new mount was found and the Yamaha was put up for sale.
