2006 BMW K1200R Power Cup Race Factory Built Race Bike 1of 36
Price: $10,995 USD
This is 1 of 36 factory built by BMW Motorrad as part of a European Spec Race Series BMW designed in 2004 and built for the 2005 Motogp Support Series in Europe.
“The BMW K1200R Power Cup is a factory built racer that competed in a one-make championship which ran in parallel with the European MotoGP races, never to ridden on the street and only delivered in Europe. Replacing the BMW Boxer Cup, which featured the BMW R1100S, the Power Cup bikes were based on the K1200R, with extra aerodynamic enhancements (particularly the belly fairing) and a custom exhaust which helped obtain a total of 175 horsepower. A full field of 36 riders will contest the seven rounds. The ultimate prize is a BMW 6 Series Coupé. Runners up also score substantial prizes: a BMW X3 4WD for second place in the series and a BMW motorcycle for third. The new BMW Power-Cup aims to give up-and-coming riders a chance to perform in front of a large and influential audience. Experienced competitors, such as last year's BoxerCup champion, Thomas Hinterreiter, will show off their skills, not to mention teaching the racers of tomorrow a few tricks.”
This particular 2006 K1200R Power Cup motorcycle, 1 of only 36 factory built and the only one in the US, is the bike that Nate Kern rode to his championship in 2005 along with Brian Parriott riding it on the West Coast.
This BMW K1200R Power Cup has a scrutineering sticker from the 3rd 2005 race series it was entered. It comes with the factory Laser exhaust, with most of the stock body panels replaced in carbon fiber. This is a true racer, as seen by the Power Cup specific electronic dashboard, semi-automatic racing gearbox with an electronic quick-shifter and adjustable rear sets and foot pegs.
Turning up with a race bike built by BMW Motorrad and the only one in the USA for a track day should be on everyone’s bucket list. Obviously a complete mechanical inspection must be done before entering any future event.
This is an incredibly rare bike whether you take to the track or display in your living room. You will never see another one.
Sold as a 2006 model year vehicle with an Oregon title. Not street legal.
The VIN# is WB10584076ZN10101 (located on the right side frame area near the rear brake lever) and kilometers are 1230. The selling price is $10,995.
