Having been a customer of Hansen’s BMW since 1982 I had the opportunity to met many of Craig’s long term customers who supported the shop by purchasing new motorcycles, By following Craig’s and BMW’s recommended service intervals, they kept their bikes in as close to showroom condition as was possible while assuring Hansen’s BMW success as one of the nations recognized best BMW Motorcycle Dealers.
If anything is constant it would time and change. Hansen’s was destroyed by fire a few years back and previous customers are aging out as in the case of the 2005 BMW R1200ST owner who came by. As one of Craig’s loyal customers who followed any service or repair suggestion given by to him over the years with little regard to cost, the bike comes with a clean bill of health, ready to ride in the foot hills of the Rogue Valley or to Tampa, Florida.
The R1200ST was one of the four new models based on the new platform for 2005, the new R1200 drivetrain and chassis from BMW. The ST was billed as the Autobahn flier, just enough storage for travel with less weight and frontal foot print than the other bike. Plenty has been discussed in the past 19 years covering this evolution of Twin that can be found on the net. This motorcycle is in exceptional condition, one could say it is as close to buying new as you will get even with the 28,000 miles on the clock. The most recent service was the replacement of the ABS Brake System at a cost of $3,200, done before it was brought to the shop to be sold. The owner wanted the bike to be right even if regrouping the money spent impossible, it just had to be in his mind mechanically sound for the next owner.
