When these came out in limited numbers in 2014, you had waiting lines around the block for these soon to be known as the most customized motorcycle ever outside of Harley-Davidson. A little head scratching later, BMW built more, a lot more and then the many variants that have followed.

This particular bike was sold at Hansen’s BMW and immediately modified using top of the line parts from the aftermarket and the factory. The owner decided the bike could handle and feel better so R1200R tubeless rims, which save over 5 lbs per wheel, were spooned on. He also probably hated keeping spoked wheels cleaned. The factory OEM wheels came painted charcoal grey but he wanted to brighten up the bike a bit so he had them color matched to the aluminum brackets on the bike. He also added heated grips plus the Wunderlich bar riser which make a big improvement in overall comfort along with the Fly Screen. The Embossing on the Air Intake Cover is Airbrushed flat Black to match the inlets and compliment the OEM Cylinder Guards. All told, he ended up in the bike over $19,000.

After a short time, he found that a GS would be the better mount and sold the bike to our customer who was coming off of a Harley. He loved the bike so much, he walked in to Hansen’s BMW recently and bought a brand new R1200R. New! Our bike is still under factory 36,000, 3 year warranty until 5/21/2018.
