Another BMW F800ST has rolled through the door, this one an earlier 2007 model with a few miles, but still very few given the year. It does not change anything about the model, F800’s are still a great mount with a relatively indestructible drivetrain. As I have written earlier about the F800’s, everyone has opinions and mine tend to fitted to what feels good through the bars and seat to my riding style. That said, the F800 BMW has been one of my favorite one up bikes built. Great motor, narrow and a good front end feel with good brakes. They made a ton of models but the Sport Touring versions had a different final drive system than the GS’s using a Belt Drive instead of a chain, going for a BMW tradition of no oiling and no mess being flung about by the drive chain.

The ST supplemented the S model with a bit higher handle bars and lower foot pegs, allowing for more of an upright riding position and more rider leg room. Our particular bike is equipped with a taller accessory windscreen and the expanding BMW Saddle Bags that are Hard Shelled with collapsed but expand with an external exoskeleton which appears large enough to hold a helmet. The Sargent Touring Seat is so much better than the stock seat, which does come with the bike. There is also an aftermarket muffler besides the stock unit installed. Along with the bike is a Garmin GPS that handle bar mounts.

The 2007 ST was voted Rider Magazine’s best Sport-Touring Motorcycle in ’07 and it makes total sense. Though they are a bit short for two up touring, as a one up bike, it is hard to beat and especially at this price point. The engine is
BMW designed, a Rotax-built parallel twin-cylinder that is liquid-cooled with four valves per cylinder giving out about 80hp.

The particular bike was just completely serviced at Hansen’s BMW in Medford with the service work order attached with the images. Oils were changed, brake fluids were flushed, the Valves adjusted, new Spark Plugs installed, a K&N Air Filter replaced the stock unit and the bike test ridden. It is ready to go with the simple task of adding fuel as need be.
