The 2021 BMW F900XR Exclusive is considered the smaller brother to the S1000 XR offering up the same sort of riding package with at much less frenetic pace. It offers an accessible and friendly package, while the ergonomics on the F900XR are stretched out and comfort oriented giving a good mix of touring comfort and agility. I actually rode the bike back from storage with 24 miles showing and got a good taste of the how the bike performed and for one up riding, no one will be disappointed.

The F 900 XR can be seen as an adventure bike, it’s more of a practical Sports Touring mount that can be used for everyday commuting or long-distance rides. The seat height is about 31.5 inches so it will not be a struggle for normal height riders, allowing someone with less experience not to be intimidated by the size, power and brakes the F900 possesses.

What makes this bike ideal for part-time adventurers is the addition of several off-road attributes. There is increased suspension travel, an adjustable windshield, LED lights, and Automatic Stability Control. Plus, there are selectable riding modes and a smart TFT display with full BMW Motorrad Connectivity. Additionally, there’s plenty of cargo space and the option to add BMW luggage with built in mounts ready for the bags.

How does a bike end up at the shop with 56 miles? The buyer ordered the bike from Hansen’s BMW and while waiting for delivery was transferred to Houston, TX. The bike came in and was immediately placed in storage and after three or four months of sitting, waiting, the owner realized it was going to be impractical to keep the bike. The bike has the Exclusive package which includes the Quick Shifter and BMW GPS. While waiting for delivery he had ordered a stack of accessories for it, all still in packages when we got the bike. We spent most of the day installing them with the balance of the stock parts kept in a box that will go with the bike.
