2010 BMW R1200RT Factory Low Suspension
Price: $7,895 USD - PREVIOUSLY SOLD
The 2005 and newer BMW R1200RT happens to be my favorite Sport Touring bike of all time. It has all of the creature comforts most of like for two up riding but it does not weigh a ton and handles well enough to make winding roads a hoot. I had my own 2006 model and think it is the best thing since sliced bread. I am not alone, ask any Motor Officer which Sport Tourer they think handles the best and they will all say the BMW R1200RT.
But in 2010, BMW did a final refit and upgrade before the water cooled version came out in 2014. Man did they cure all of the nick picks I had about my bike. They created the Twin Cam engine which added a little more power and torque, but the big plus was doubling the valve adjust service interval to 16,000 miles. They rationalized the hand controls and switching devices away from “We are BMW and you will like these switches…” to intuitive and simple choices. The rest of the bike stayed pretty much the same, a twist here, a twinkle there. It is the best engine BMW has made as far as I am concerned.
So when I heard that we were getting a 2010 RT LS in I was excited to be offering the bike for sale. I talk about the BMW Twin Cam drivetrain to almost anyone who is looking at a BMW Twin. The bike comes equipped with factory packages #0499 (low suspension), #0538 (Cruise Control), #0764 (Accessory Plug), #0519 (heated grips). This bike was sold new and serviced by Hansen’s BMW in Medford who just did a pre-purchase inspection prior to it being dropped off at our shop. New front and rear tires were installed and now have a total of 27 miles on them. The owner installed custom seats with removable back rests. It comes with factory installed Cruise Control, Heated Grips and Electronically Adjustable Windscreen. Cosmetically it is excellent with the exception of marks on the Bag Lid Covers, a common sight on these bikes.
If you are looking at doing some serious secondary road touring or just blazing across the Interest State by yourself or with a passenger, you will not find a better handling, more comfortable bike in the range of Sport Touring bikes. Just ask someone that owns one.
The selling price is $7,895. VIN# WB1044005AZW18159, miles are 18,532. For other interesting bikes and collectible vehicles, visit our web site http://www.automaniagp.com 541 479 8888 or come by and see us at 895 SE Gladiola Drive, Grants Pass, Oregon, 97526. Oregon Dealer DA1287.
