Do not get me started on BMW’s naming nomenclature system used on the F800 series of bikes. You have the F800, the F750 and the F650, all the same displacement which gets confusing when they were also offering a G650 that was actually a 650cc Single.

But this is a 2012 F650GS Twin, a 798cc Twin. It came with a lower seat height, was missing some of the farkle and has Mag Wheels instead of Spokes but still the larger motor which provided the possibility of long distance travel without the pounding of a single Cylinder 650cc Engine spinning at 8,000rpm cruising at freeway speeds. On our particular bike, it is also equipped with a Moto-Tech Center Stand, Tourtech Panniers and Tourtech Engine Protectors.

And the reason the bike is for sale. Long time customers from New Zealand bought bikes on the East Coast and drove cross country for five weeks as part of “The Great Adventure”. At the end of the ride, they dropped their bikes off, asking if I would get them sold. The bike has been ridden at least 5,200 miles and most likely need an oil change. There is a new set of sprockets and chain plus two oil filters in the one case. I have no service history for the bike, but it was just ridden cross country without a hiccup.
