2013 Kawasaki 900 Vulcan Classic LT VN900DDF

A well know motorcyclist in the Valley sent his neighbor in with this 2013 Kawasaki Classic LT that has been taking up room in his garage for too long without being ridden. Except for cleaning a couple of bug splats off the windscreen, we had to do nothing else to make the bike look show room fresh. Tires have about 1,000 miles on them and oils were changed last season.
The Classic LT was the Vulcan 900 version with factory Saddle Bags, a substantial Windscreen and Passenger Backrest all as standard equipment. The engine is a very relaxed 903cc V-Twin Engine, 5-Speed Transmission and Belt Final Drive. Riding the bike briefly I was struck at low the driver’s saddle height was and how easy it was to balance the bike at slower speeds. What we have here is enough engine, enough weight and long enough chassis to make for stable long distance touring and travel with a seat height that allows for shorter inseam’d riders to be comfortable at lower speeds. With a 5.3 gallon tank and 44mpg average, 200 miles between fill up’s is reasonable to expect.
The exhaust is stock and reasonable in sound without rattling windows for blocks around and pissing off your neighbors when you leave for those early morning starts. The bike needs nothing but a direction to be pointed and great weather. I am sure it is just around the corner.
