1987 Kawasaki Ninja 750R

Most us of dream of coming across a barn full of older, low mileage, unmolested motorcycles or cars, it rarely occurs and always someone else found it first or paid nothing for it because the owner had no idea of the worth. Truth is there are unmolested, older rigs out there, but in the world of the internet, nothing gets pass a search engine looking for values and scarcity.
This 1987 Kawasaki Ninja 750R comes with the title which was last transferred in February of 1988 showing 7,786 miles at the time of transfer. For a bike that has been ridden close to 18,000 miles and is 34 years old, it is remarkable for it’s condition. The paint on the front of the gas tank is starting to craze as you can see in the images. There are marks showing signs of being ridden, but none that I can see of the bike being on it’s side or suffering any sign of impact or damage. What caught my eye right away was the stock and unmodified Exhaust Mufflers. Someone always believes 6 more horsepower from $800 worth of aluminum cans packed with cheap fiberglass really makes a difference (but does make a lot of noise) is a good idea and throws the stock pipes away. Finding stock exhaust system parts on an older bike is nearly impossible if you are looking to own an original bike.
Two items I saw on the bike are not stock. The rear Blinkers are after market and the wheels have been painted. Most of the stock decals are still in place. The bike starts and rides normally in my brief ride up and down the street here at the shop. The front fender may have been painted, it may just need to be polished.
