2011 Kawasaki Concours 14 ABS

The 2011 Kawasaki Concours 14 ABS was the 25th year of production starting in 1986. 2008 was the introduction of the “14” but 2011 had a host of mechanical, cosmetic and electronic features that make it as current a Sport Touring bike as any being sold presently.
A neat feature was the Eco mode which offered fuel savings of up to 25% at freeway cruising speeds of less than 6000rpm or 80mph. Anti-lock brakes came standard, important on any bike with the speed possibilities of this ride. Heated handgrips also came standard. The modern and attractive instrument panel has twin round dials for speed and tach. The center display has monitoring of electronic functions and systems including the tire-pressure monitoring system. One of the more interesting features was KTRC (Kawasaki speak for traction control) which the bike is equipped with.
Kawasaki also addressed the jacking effects of rear shaft drive with Tetra-Lever shaft drive using a four-link design to offset the lifting and squatting tendencies of shaft drive systems when the throttle is opened and closed, all of which results in more predicable handling characteristics.
