This 1976 Honda CB500T was a multi year project for a local customer who wanted to own the bike of his dreams but was unable to find an original local bike. Many winters were spent taking the bike down to the frame, having it powder coated, the tank and panels painted by a professional body shop and in general, refurbishing the rest. He took the original engine apart to the crank and soon realized the cost to rebuild it would be over the moon. Instead he found a good used engine on line, had it shipped and installed it. Instant rebuild and it ran great. Recent carb work has been completed and the bike was made ready for ridding.

The bike was finished and then work and life got in the way. It sat in the shop reminding him of the time he did not have and eventually a choice was made to find a new home for his work, which is how it arrived here at the shop. It starts and runs well, has the casting nipples still on the tires and looks great. The stock mufflers are gone, but the sound of the twin is excellent through the after market pipes.

And...... that did not go as planned. We sold the bike and that afternoon the top end went away. Refunded the sale and now selling the bike as not running, needing attention. We have a complete, dissembled engine plus much more. Oh well, best laid plans of mice and men....
