Let’s get past this right away. The 2014 Honda DCT/ABS CTX700N was never intended for a seasoned, jaded rider who has been riding since Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. It was intended to provide comfort, technology and the world of motorcycle riding to those entering into our world or someone who is not enamored with the latest, fastest, over chromed 200 mph feat of engineering being pushed in the motorcycle press at the moment. It was intended to bring enjoyment with intimation to someone who wants a chance to love riding without being scared out of their wits by power, weight and dealing with a clutch lever and foot operated gear shift. It is not for everyone, just those it was intended.
So, our bike is the top of the line 700N. As such, it is equipped with all of Honda’s ingenious wonders, ABS Brakes, Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission, Electric start, even a Parking Brake so it will not roll away when you have to park on a grade. Shifting is done by paddle shifters mounted on the Handle Bars, all of the controls are at hands reach, except for the rear brake that is still operated by the right foot. An important feature that is always the next question, fuel mileage is excellent rated at 64 mpg average.
This particular bike was bought by a long time rider for his wife in the hopes they would ride together. It was one of those moments where the husband surprises the wife with a gift that he knows she is going to love…and instead she looks shocked and then unenthusiastic. Too late, it had the delivery miles on it and he was an owner 114 miles later.
