Our fist Honda African Twin (AT) for 2021! With every possible bell and whistle, the bike is one of those bikes that is the perfect set off point towards Alaska or Cape Horn. My first experience riding one of these iconic motorcycles and I was pretty impressed by the engine and transmission. Why Honda kept coming out with new models so quickly is a head scratcher, this bike feels really good as it sits and would have kept ALT riders happy for decades.

Our local owner was a serious ALT rider, spending time in Eastern Oregon and touring the Northwest. For the miles that are showing on the odometer, there are almost no scars or scratches anywhere. I asked how this could have happened and was answered, “Slow is faster” which speaks volumes about his experience. The coolest parts added in my opinion were the Camel ADV Auxiliary Gas Tank and the TrailTech Computer. With the Auxiliary tank, which is automatically vacuum transferred in the main gas tank, you can carry an extra 1.7 gallons of fuel. I asked for a list of the accessory factory and after market parts and was supplied this list. Looks like it was almost as much as the bike cost new…
