2005 Ducati Multistrada S DS
Grants Pass, Oregon 97526

The 2005 Ducati Multistrada 1000 S DS was the first major revamp of the model introduced in 2001. Most of the ergonomic issues were attended too including the seat, but it was still a bit harsh for some tastes. The “S” version of the bike got Öhlins Front Forks and their Rear Shock plus Carbon bits around the bike like the Timing Belts Covers, Front Fender and Chain Guard. Those were all pieces that most Ducati owner’s immediately changed as soon as the ink of ownership was dried and the added the finishing touches to the Multistrada, Italian for “Many Roads” gave it that look only Italian motorcycles can carry. The owner opted for the factory gel seat, keeping the stock seat and tail cover in a box that comes with the bike.
The engine is the Air Cooled 90 degree V-Twin that has served Ducati for so many years. It lacks the mass and weight of the four valve head and water cooling system, keeping the original concept of light and simple true.
This particular bike was purchased at Hansen’s when they were the Ducati Dealer in Southern Oregon and has spent a great deal of it’s time waiting to be ridden showing only 5,661 miles from new on it. First off, an Arrow Exhaust System was added, another “must have” accessory for every Ducati. Over the years, the owner kept the oils and fluids changed regardless of the miles including a complete fluid swamp just last year. When we got the bike, it was still wearing its original tires, now 12 years old. These were replaced with Michelins 1 mile ago. Also replaced was the battery which was marginal. The bike shows as new, has new tires, new battery, recent fluid changes and is ready to be ridden. The bikes have developed a bit of a cult following with the demand for clean, low mile bikes increasing.
