2006 Ducati ST3S ABS
Grants Pass, Oregon 97526
Price: $5,495 USD - PREVIOUSLY SOLD
The 2003 Ducati ST3 three valve head was designed to rationalize the ST4 four valve head motorcycle and make a usable mount for normal street use. It succeeded beyond expectations, eliminating the abruptness and overwhelming power delivery of the ST4 to make for one Ducati’s best Sport Touring Motorcycles ever. The “S” model was offered in 2006 with ABS Brakes, upgraded Suspension including an Öhlins rear Shock, upgraded Showa Front Forks, a $2000 boast over the standard ST3 making the bike more European in essence over the standard ST.
The problem still was the riding stance was way to far forward and a couple of hours in the saddle and it was off to the chiropractor for multiple sessions. The solution came from Cyclecat (now out of business) which were their bar backs as installed on our bike. Other items installed were a Garmin GPS mount and heat grips (disconnected at this time because they do not turn off). The Factory Hard Bags mounted to Ducati bag mounts that could be removed without destroying the look of the motorcycle. Something I saw that was interesting was that the mufflers have two mounting holes on the rear foot hangers, one higher than the other. You use the lower mount when the bags are installed and raise them to the higher hole when not running the bags. The Mufflers on the bike are Ducati Performance accessory items, giving the bike a beautiful, powerful sound beloved by all Ducati enthusiasts.
Timing belts were replaced 800 miles and three years ago. A new from tire was installed and the bike not ridden due to changing life style circumstances. It is ready to travel once again and for about a third of the original selling price.
