1956 Chevrolet Bel Air for sale

1956 Chevrolet Bel Air

Mileage: 18,132 U.S. miles
VIN #: VC560001869
Stock #: 1465
The owner of this Bel Air listed the car on Bring a Trailer within the past twelve months were it bid to $19,000, not meeting his reserve. In hindsight, he wishes he had taken the offer and he is out $100 for the listing. Since that time, he has replaced the power steering pump, the fuel pump and other mechanical issues that were present when he listed the car on BAT, so the car is in fact in better condition than when it was offered on line previously. The following is the write up from Bring a Trailer and I could not a better job of describing the car at the moment.

This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air four-door sedan is finished in red and white over a matching interior and powered by a 265ci V8 paired with a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission. Features include Bel Air trim, a 12-volt electrical system, lowered suspension, power steering, power disc brakes, a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, painted steel wheels with covers, and a retro-style AM/FM/Cassette stereo. The car was repainted in 1990 and subsequently acquired by the seller in 1994. This Bel Air sedan is offered with a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

The car is said to have been repainted red and white during previous ownership. Features include a hood ornament, Bel Air trim and badging, chrome bumpers and mirrors, styled tailfins with brushed metal inserts, and dual-outlet exhausts that exit below the rear bumper. The seller notes rust on the edge of the rear passenger-side door and the lower edge of the driver-side front fender.

The body-colored steel wheels wear Chevrolet hubcaps and are mounted with Coker Classic whitewall tires. The car is fitted with power steering, a dual master brake cylinder, and front drop spindles. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk.

The twin bench seats are upholstered in white vinyl with red cloth. Features include air conditioning, a retro-style AM/FM/Cassette stereo, a locking glovebox, an electric clock, lap belts for all occupants, and carpeted floor mats. The seller notes the air conditioning does not blow cold.

he three-spoke steering wheel has a chrome horn ring and frames a 110-mph speedometer and gauges measuring coolant temperature and fuel level. An aftermarket tachometer has been mounted to the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 18k miles, 11k of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The 265ci V8 is fitted with a four-barrel carburetor, finned valve covers, and an upgraded 12-volt electrical system and alternator. The engine is said to have been rebuilt and balanced in 1999. An oil change has been performed in preparation for sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission. The transmission is said to have been installed in 1999.

The VIN# is VC560001869. Miles showing are 18,132 and are in excess of it’s mechanical limits.
