2000 Porsche Boxster

My good friend Alex cannot help himself. He loves cars, anything with style or character, he has to own and have it until the next bug comes along to bite him in the seat of his pants.
….and so when he came across this 2000 Porsche Boxster with 60,000 miles showing, out came his check book and away he drove. The car is in great mechanical and cosmetic condition with the 5-Speed Manual Transmission and AC. The original top had been replaced with the Canvas version with that comes with a glass rear window, much preferred over the vinyl style.
The “Elephant in the Room” IMS bearing has been replaced, the original is in a box with the car including a receipt for the part at Aaron’s Autowerks in Medford. A tech who works there did the replacement when the car was his and sent along images of it being installed. The stock exhaust was replaced with a unit weighing 40#’s less and allowing you hear what has been described as the sound of “tearing silk” as the engine goes through the RPM range. The stock muffler that it replaced comes with the sale.
Driving the car reminded me of how much car you get for the money in a Boxster. Mechanically everything worked well, the AC blew ice cold and the top went up and down perfectly. Nothing was amiss, everything worked as expected and the car was a hoot to drive. I think they call that “big bang for the buck” in the car world.
