This 2007 Cayman S, one owner car, was purchased new at Sunset Imports in Portland. The owner has a local reputation for his rigorous following of maintenance scheduling for all of his cars and along with the Porsche, we have all of the service documents since it was purchased new. We also have the build sheet from when it was ordered and included are the Arctic Silver Paint, Special Cocoa Leather interior, the Preferred Package, Bi-Xeon Headlights, Sport Steering Wheel, heated Front Seats, a stunning Bose Sound System plus many other standard options featured with the “S” package. Out the door, the car was about $66,000 new.
Those are some of the hard figures. The “S” model Cayman put out 291hp stock. This car runs through a 6 Speed Manual Transmission that is without fault. The clutch and shifting were as if it had just rolled off the show room floor. I was allowed to drive the car a short distance to Rogue River and back and came away thinking this was one of the best responding cars I have driven in years. Porsche got this right, a similar feeling I had driving a Viper many years ago. When assertively traveling through a bend, you feel as the car is rotating around the driver as you apply and release the throttle during the turn. It was perfect. Having had a standard Boxster in the past, the Cayman is a completely different car. There was no under steer initially and it keep it’s composure with no drama exiting. It was a treat.
The car is cosmetically and mechanically without fault. It led a pampered life without track days or other sever use that would affect it’s present condition. There were several long cross country trips to witness Sebring and other events, the total miles racked up were 57,801. To see and drive the car is to witness it in almost new condition.
