I am asked frequently why many of the bikes and cars we consign have the low miles they do. Obviously it starts with the vehicle not being driven, adding miles that normal use would bring. The other factor is the hesitancy of owners to engage with the general public. It is easier to let a car or bike sit then deal with potential issues that could arise finding a buyer. And so we are presenting a low mileage 2006 Mini Cooper Works GP Kit , #1125/2000, with just shy of 7,600 miles from new. Again the car was purchased as a symbolic reward for the stress of being the CEO of a moderate sized company and the successes which had followed. It was another over estimate of time allowed by an intense work environment that left the car undriven and finally brought to Grants Pass about twelve years ago, only to sit on a hoist along with the rest of an accumulation of cars and motorcycles. When the owner and I talked about selling the car, it was decided on new Pirellis run flats should be installed. A M7 Carbon Fiber Splitter from M7 Tuning was added to the front air dam, an after market Chassis Cross Brace under the car and a Engine Motor Mount Dampener you can see on the passenger side of the engine compartment.

The Works GP Kit included a revised Eaton blower, a less restrictive intercooler, recalibrated engine management, high-volume injector nozzles, and a freer-flowing exhaust system. The various mods bump power output to 215 horsepower at 7100 rpm and help propel the Mini to it’s 145-mph top-speed.

Included with the car is all of the original Mini booklets, including the Mini Journal and a copy of the window sticker. The crankcase oil was changed recently and a safety inspection completed prior to coming to the shop. There are no signs of paint work or impact anywhere which you can see in the accompanying images.

I was allowed to drive the car on a short route that included a few miles on I 5 and have to say it was not a time to be relaxed or be inattentive. It is extremely flat while negotiating turns, easily exceeds the acceptable speed limit and changes direction as you intend when you think about it. It is as close to riding a Sportbike as I have experienced on four wheels and could be a very addictive ownership experience. I would have my attorney on speed dial.
