1967 Chevrolet Corvette
Price: $49,995 USD - PREVIOUSLY SOLD
Most times I get a car or bike in that is accompanied by documentation of work done and prior ownership, records of service, repairs and ownership. Every so often I get a whole bunch more which the case with this 1967 Corvette Roadster. Along with the car was a stack of receipts, applications for ownerships and copies of titles going back to 1988 including when our consigner bought the car at an estate auction here in Grants Pass in 2000. I grabbed a couple, scanned them and added them to the images of the car at the bottom of the page along with the appraisal done in 2020.
I did an inspection for numbers on the engine and transmission and took images that are shown below. The engine number was #7105946 (re-stamped), the last digits are HE, the 327, 300hp motor. The Transmission has two numbers on it, #388501C and 3857564 that I found. The bell housing has #3858403 on top. The engine and VIN number of the car, #194677S105946, show the engine numbers to be matching but the engine numbers have been re-stamped. The rest of the units are by date code.
The owner of the car has had it in their possession for the past twenty years after buying at Auction from the titled owners in 2000. There are receipts for normal service and minor repairs over the years, the most interesting of which is a clutch replacement in 2018, shortly before the husband, owner’s passing. The car has sat in the garage since that time, possibly traveling another 400 miles in total since.
I drove the car with the top down and to say it was a throw back is to put it mildly. With the side pipes, it is everything I remember from High School doing the Cruise on 4th Street in the day. Mechanically the car was tight, everything worked (hard to harm a Chevrolet Drivetrain..) and it was a pleasure to drive. The paint is not new and if there is anything that is not up to snuff, it is the condition of the color change from Lynndale Blue to Marlboro Maroon many decades ago that catches your eye up close. A saving grace is the aftermarket AC that was installed along the way. Cruising in summer heat is not as bearable as it was for us 50 years ago. The tach needle is not showing. The fender flares appear to have been modified at the time of paint.
The Hard Top is included with the car as shown in the images. The car is a great driver, a car that can be taken on local cruises or long distance travels without the need of a trailer.
The selling price is $58,995 and the VIN#is 194677S105946. For other interesting bikes and collectible vehicles, visit our web site http://www.automaniagp.com 541-479- 8888 or come by and see us at 895 SE Gladiola Drive, Grants Pass, Oregon, 97526. Oregon Dealer DA1287.
