This 1987 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible shows 72,179 miles from new. The transmission is Automatic and these cars came stock with almost every power accessory available. The top operates manually and I would really like to get hold of the guy that designed the operating mechanism. Push this, pull that, depress this button, lift the hood, press that button, lift here. It was a learning experience, but it went down and the tonneau cover closed smoothly. A couple more times, I might finally look like I know what I am doing.
The car has been sitting in the shop for several years due to medical issues and that had some impacts. The paint is good, but it is stained on the flat surfaces, which you can see under fluorescents, but not as noticeable in sunlight. The check engine light was on and we had it scoped at a local shop, repaired the issue, a defective Air Flow Sensor and thought all was good. It ran great, but the light came on again after ten miles. It still runs well despite the light being on and we are going to call it good while announcing it.
The car looks great, runs well and is a convertible. Hard to believe it sold for over $33,000 when it was new and now, a fraction of the price. I cannot think of a cheaper way to own a convertible sports car with this much performance and style. It makes you look like a million dollars going down the road.
