And here is the result of one such adventure. A 1978 Ford F150 Super Cab 4X4 that was originally found a little worse for wear. Untold thousands of dollars later, the realization was met. New paint, wheels and tires and trim were brought to the rare Super Cab, 4-Speed, 460 V-8. The work was done well and it really has a great look as you can see in the images. The exhaust manifolds were leaking which led to their repair and a brand new exhaust system behind them. New door rubber was installed and the tail gate latch hardware serviced and so everything opens like it should. Driving the F150 takes you back to trucks built thirty years ago, solid with minimal plastic and a direct connection to the drivetrain.

Anyone who has owned an older vehicle accepts they are never finished; it is part of the attraction of ownership of these symbols of another time. In this instance, the heavy lifting has been completed and now finishing has become anti-climatic and another project beckons. It is part of being a motor-head.
