1994 Ford F150 XLT
On top of the crazy prices new trucks are bringing, some earlier model ranges of Fords, Dodges and Chevy’s have found a strong following with collectors who still want to have something practical in an older truck, but with enough comfort and drivability for normal use.
The 1992-1996 Ford F150 is one of the niche models Ford built with the basic toughness, simplicity, and reliability that had defined Ford pickups with modern features that also show up in the following larger, 10th generation F150. It was smaller than the trucks that followed, easier to drive and park then the bigger, “better” next generation of Fords. The 92-96 Trucks are considered the best looking Fords still using the basic mechanical layout introduced in 1980.
There was a stout and dependable line-up of uncomplicated engines and transmissions with nothing “brand new” to give fits and break. The ninth-generation F-150 is just old enough to be interesting and just new enough to be normally hassle free. Somewhat collectible and practical at the same time.
This particular truck has been around the valley for decades. It shows 134,124 miles and if I were to be asked how to describe the rig, I would call it really great bones. There is no rust with only some minor marks and dents in the body. The paint is original and bed must have had a bed liner or shell covering it, there are signs of heavy use or the loading of heavy material on the deck floor. The interior is in good shape with original coverings. The worse part in the cab is the carpet which has some stains as you can see in the images.
New shocks were installed and driving it after was a revelation. It does drives great, smooth and without drama. The transmission shifts well, the 4WD works, brakes worked well, everything except the radio worked. It definitely has 130,000 miles on it but it is really nice to drive.
