1940 Chevrolet KC Master Pickup
Price: $24995 USD - PREVIOUSLY SOLD
This 1940 Chevrolet Pickup is one of the best build quality hot rods that have come through the shop even being built 25 years ago. It represents the best of the best from that local period, the popping mid-90’s. It has many of those period fashions, shaved door handles, billet pieces and the general layout and materials used in the interior. What makes this period built stand apart is the quality of the design, the fabrications involved and final execution completed by the owner.
Otto Miller was a fixture in the Southern Oregon Hot Rod community for several decades who passed about six years ago. He and his wife spent 19 years involved with local club activities, driving this incredible build Otto spent four years dedicating his time and skill too.
As Otto is gone, it is hard to give an exact description of the drivetrain and chassis except by observing and creating images. The front suspension looks to be out of a GM product with independent A-Arms and Disk Brakes. The engine appears to be a 350 Chevy decked out in Billet with AC. It has Gear Drive timing from listening to it run. The rest is described best by looking at the pictures I took. Same with the transmission, I do not know what model it is but by looking at the Transmission pan, someone with more knowledge will.
The rear Axle is a Ford that has been narrowed dramatically. The bed was tubbed to fit the tires without modifying the rear fenders. As you can see underneath, a driveshaft shield was added to the chassis. All and all a really nice design and fabrication is found everywhere. The hardware attaching moldings and panels is all matching and appears stainless steel.
The interior was done by Jerry’s Top Shop in 1999 for those of you who remember Jerry. He did great work and was a hell of a guy. Bobbie Youngblood did the paint here in town. Tommy Carr did the Flames and Pin Stripping. There are receipts from all of these folks and more in a very complete folder of receipts that go with the truck.
There is not much more to add, it would take someone much more informed than to add more features and build specifications. What the truck is today is a fabulous driver with very little to show for its 25 years of existence. It really needs to be seen to be enjoyed and viewed with the idea of ownership.
The VIN# is LCC8446201. The selling price is $24,995. For other interesting bikes and collectible vehicles, visit our web site http://www.automaniagp.com 541 479 8888 or come by and see us at Automania LLC, 895 SE Gladiola Drive, Grants Pass, Oregon, 97526. Oregon Dealer DA1287.
