When we first saw this 1931 Ford Model A Hot Rod, it was shown to us by the surviving widow of a dyed in the wool Hot Rodder who had been 9/10th’s of the way to putting the car together when time ran out. The valve covers and lifters were off, the wiring was incomplete, the list went on. Never the less, she wanted it to find a good new home and so we found a local fabricator to bring it back to a driving manner without changing anything dramatic or completing the finishing work.

With no receipts or records, this is about what I know. It is an original Ford Factory metal Body, with what I was told are some of the best doors around. There are no signs of rust, no sag, none of the normal 90 year old issues of the A. It comes with a set of Fiberglass front fenders, steel hood panels, running boards and side under trays.

On top of being one of the better Model A bodies around, it was not chopped. There is TCI Chassis under it (yellow in color), a pretty nice Mustang Front End with Disk Brakes and a Ford Rear End. The interior has a set of Bucket Seats (no safety belts) and a mostly carpeted interior.

The Drive-Train is another story. This might be the better part of the car including the Engine. It apparently has an aggressive cam profile, idling is lumpy and announced. The Transmission is very positive with no hesitation or slippage of any kind. The Sanderson Headers and Side Pipes are loud, in fact we looked into insert Mufflers and they are available.

Driving the car two things stick out. The first is that there is nothing subtle about it. The second is how well it drove for all the parts combined including not a rattle anywhere. It is loud and fast but brakes and steering did their job. It started right away, took a bit to warm up but if you are looking for something no one will notice, this might not be the car for you.

The VIN# is OR92157 and miles showing on the VDO gauges are 3,365. The selling price is $19,995.
