The owner of this 1975 Chevrolet Nova Custom Sedan, who recently passed, started out with a 6 cylinder equipped car for transplanting a 454 Big Block into it. His hobbies included having custom Chevy’s built and he used local shops and suppliers with apparently no financial limits to create the cars he desired. The engine appears to be freshly assembled. Bolts, gaskets, clamps and accessories appear new or fresh. The interior was being done by Greg’s Upholstery and remains unfinished with most of the trim parts still in the trunk. I spoke with Greg and he mentioned it would not take much to finish his work but he did tell me that the owner had purposely removed the rear seat to make more room for hauling stuff like groceries. The front seats, door panels and trunk are to Greg’s usual standard and are as just finished. Even the area where the rear seat normally goes is upholstered.
The car drives excellent, but is an unfinished project. The heavy lifting has been done, it needs to be tied back together. There is no radio and the dash needs attention. The drive train is great, the car drives better then I remember Nova’s did back in the day. Brakes are good, tranny shifts well. The paint is not bad, but it got bumped waiting to be completed as can be seen on the right front corner. Tires maybe almost new.
The pleasure was in the reconditioning and the car apparently was not used very much after. I have no paperwork to back up these assumptions, but having a shop take a look at it would verify what we have seen. It drives great, stops, shifts and steers well.
