2005 Mazda RX8 SHINKA

Mazda unveiled this RX-8 Shinka edition as a response to Mitsubishi’s Evolution range of sports sedans. Shinka was a reference in Japanese for “evolution” or “transformation.”
The most obvious difference to the RX-8 is the Black Cherry paint, only available on the 2150 copies of the Shinka. The interior is done in Parchment Tan Leather, incredibly comfortable while listening to the 300-watt Bose sound system that includes a six-disc in-dash CD changer and standard Sirius satellite radio. The real changes for the Shinka edition Mazda were the RX-8’s suspension for a Sports Car experience reviling BMW’s corning and road holding. The front suspension crossmembers was foam urethane-filled with specifically tuned shock absorbers fitted. Rigidity was improved by reinforcing the upper portion of the A-pillars and the rear shock mounting points. This Shinka RX-8 has the 238-horsepower twin rotary bolted to a six-speed manual instead of the lesser 198-horsepower rotary included with the four-speed automatic.
Our car has been recently serviced with Plugs and an oil change. Cosmetically it is amazing for the year, the paint and interior show almost no signs of use. As you can see in the images, the Shinka package checked almost every box on the option checklist. The car drives amazingly well, performing more BMW 330 than a BMW does. The rear doors will always be a standout and the look as good as it got for Mazda in the day.
