In about 2009, a comfortable collector had us sell a large collection of cars and trucks. One of them was this 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 that I absolutely fell in love with after a drive to Rogue River and back. A close friend was visiting that week and he also felt the passion of the Aluminum Block V-10 and took it back to his hanger in Southern California. It had 47,375 miles at the time. I looked up the original write up and found this in the archives:

“LP dropped another of his monster motored rigs off for us to sell, this time it is a 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 Viper Powered Pickup which is totally stock, a first for us so far. The truck has the aluminum block V-10 which is the engine installed in the Viper and has a 6 speed manual transmission behind it. The miles are 47,375 and the truck is beautiful inside and out. I was allowed to drive the truck to pickup Lift Gate Shocks for one of the Vipers we have here at the shop and was surprised at how tractable the engine is. If you are in second gear, you just leave it there. The truck pulls smoothly from 2000 RPM and up. The transmission is great, you know you are in a truck, but it is very positive and I really liked using it around town. The interior is top of the line Dodge as is the sound system and I have to tell you, there is not much to not like about driving it. Of course I never stretched its legs in town, but I am sure there would be some very surprised sports cars if the opportunity came about. As with all of LP’s cars, the truck has been serviced and detailed on a regular basis over the years, kept in his heated garage and not abused.”

Fast forward eleven years and the miles added are 937 since it was sold in ‘09. It is in the same fastidious condition as it was then having been kept in a Hanger with other collectible cars, planes and motorcycles all of this time. Life changes and the sale of the Hanger had the truck needing to be sold and here we are again.

And…. I still love driving that truck. Omg… if you are a Motorhead and do not get “the jolt” from that 6-Speed and V-10, you may need to reexamine your pleasures. Guaranteed to make you grin every time you drive it.
