It is absolutely amazing the interest in the earlier TJ Jeeps that has developed the past decade. It appears they maybe on the trajectory as the pre-1968 Volkswagen Type 2’s that cross the auction blocks at seemingly ridiculous money. But has anyone driven an early VW Van? At best a lesson in vehicular terror if there was ever one. With Jeeps, there is a possibility of driving it sensibly on the street as a normal vehicle without the worry of loosing use of your knees or being blown over by traffic traveling at over 45mph. I would have to assume everyone is tired of my editorializing on this at this point.

Our 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ is a unicorn, you may have heard stories about a Jeep with almost no miles, hidden away in a barn somewhere out in the wilderness, but no one seems to have seen one. The history of our Jeep is verified, not only by physical inspection, but by a Carfax that was pulled in 2018. It shows the mileage as of November of 2013 as being 6,736. The bill of sale we have now in our records is dated 07/05/2019 and gives 10,590 as the mileage on the date of that sale.

Putting the TJ on the hoist and looking at the underside carefully, the miles are more then reasonable to understand. There is almost no dirt or corrosion anywhere, the same with the engine compartment. When almost new, a lift kit was installed along with these tires that are date coded June of 2000. The spare tire appears to never been on the ground. The Jeep also shows no signs of being off road or abused and is as new as it can possibly appear with less than 11,000 showing from new. It has been garage kept and apparently driven very little. There is nothing that can been seen cosmetically or mechanically, inside or out, that needs attention other than the tires being older than recommended for continued driving on the road.
