I knew someday we would get a car or motorcycle in that had this particular history, a one owner, almost never driven vehicle that was a part of someone’s core existence. That the very personal relationship and history that went along the car would be as interesting and as important as the car or bike being sold. That story would change how it was to be seen and valued.

In 2002, the buyer of this Pontiac Trans Am with the WS6 package made a choice to buy a yellow version of the last year of TA’s. They went to their local Lebanon dealer, Primasing Motors, to order the car of their desires. Primasing came back to them and said that the limited run of Trans Am’s with the 6-Speed Manual were sold out, much less in the desired color of yellow or with the WS6 package. All gone. There were not building any more, the assembly line was closed.

Being a very good customer of the dealer, a search was made to find a new car in stock anywhere in the country. None were found. A search of Canadian dealers turned up the exact car in stock. It had been special ordered, but their customer never took delivery. It was new and sitting on the showroom. The deal was made and the new car was shipped from Canada to Oregon for delivery. Miracles happen to the patient and persistent. The car was never brought on to the lot of sale, it was directly delivered to the customer after the PPI was completed and driven home.

Finally having obtained the car, it was kept garaged and driven lightly over the years. It was never driven in the rain and in fact, has never been washed with water, only with Meguiar's Quick Spray on Cleaner. The Tee-Tops have never been unlatched or off, the covers never unpacked that are in the trunk. It was never smoked in, never eaten in, never spilt in. The original tires are still mounted on the stock “Collector Edition” Wheels. As close to unused as it can be and still with the 11,071 miles on it.

The 2002 Pontiac Trans Am’s were fast in the day, rated at 325 horsepower and running 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and the ¼ mile in 13.16 at 106.05 mph on stock Eagle FI tires. There were only 842 Manual Transmission cars with Tee-Tops built that final year, this is one of them. So why sell now? Huge life changes, the house and everything else owned has been sold. The car is the last thing to be let go. After this, retirement in a tropical location that is not conducive to paint or pristine automobiles is the immediate future. This is going to be a heart wrenching experience for the owner.
